Not a masterwork of great fiction, but an entertaining, rip-roaring, fun, popcorn book, full of interesting characters. I'll definately read more by Christopher Brookmyre.

A brilliant and humerous slice of gothic horror meets social commentry as a group of Scottish schoolkids on weekend retreat to help them get over the death of one of their peers are forced to fend off attack from a group of rampaging demons. Brilliantly witty and well observed, this only tails off slightly when the carnage begins, over two thirds of the way through the book.

I challenge you not to find at least one of the school kids that doesn't remind you a bit of yourself at school, and you will definately recognise most of the group from your own classmates.
