Having enjoyed it when I read it, the more I think back on this book the worse it gets. After 16 years or so, he's down to 1 star. Heinlien did do some great stuff, though.

worth a bit more than two stars, but I agree with graham, it hasn't dated well at all. I have always felt that Heinlein was a bit overrated.

Undoubtedly a classic. Just not a very good one. Very much of it's time; it has not aged well at all. Is this the fate of all forward looking books? Maybe. But I suspect this one got there a lot more quickly than most of the similar books we've done. I suspect if I'd ever met Heinlein I'd have wanted to punch him after about 5 minutes! Self indugent nonsense.
