Not bad... but not quite as dark as I was expecting. It did feel kinda sub-Douglas Adams at many points but I suspect Neil Gaiman isn't quite twisted enough to carry it off. There is quite often a strain of nastiness that runs through Adams's work which was missing from this book which turned out to be a rather conventional tale of "Comic fantasy by numbers". Good story and an entertaining read though with some pretty cute ideas and decent enough characters.
