Pavane (Keith Roberts)

A disjointed collection of (barely) interlinked tales that fails to satisfy on all levels. If only Keith Roberts had chosen to expand one of the single tales into a full length novel thiss could have been fantastic, as it is I was deeply disappointed.

Some would debate the placing of this in Science fiction, but I see it as the definative "alternate past" book, with some ancient technology thrown in.
