Slaughtermatic (Steve Aylett)

More poetry than prose, the use of language alone makes it a must read but coupled with the surreal ultraviolence and black humour it becomes a true work of genius. Check out the new "Only an Alligator" series which is if anything even better.

This book is an excellent romp through the fictional city of Beerlight. Just writing this review makes me want to go and re-read it so I can write something more detailed about it. For more genius from the mind of Aylett I strongly recommend you check out Bigot Hall.
